But Why 7th april ?

In 1948, the WHO organised the first World Health Assembly which called for the creation of a "World Health Day". In 1950, the first World Health Day was celebrated on April 7 and since then, it is observed every year on the same day. The main aim of the day is to create awareness of a specific health theme to highlight a priority area of concern for the World Health Organization.

Eat healthy.

Get regular exercise.

Exercise can help prevent heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and colon cancer. It can help treat depression, osteoporosis, and high blood pressure. People who exercise also get injured less often. Routine exercise can make you feel better and keep your weight under control. Try to be active for 30 to 60 minutes about 5 times a week. Remember, any amount of exercise is better than none.

Lose weight if you’re overweight.

Many indians are overweight. Carrying too much weight increases your risk for several health conditions. These include:
  • high blood pressure
  • high cholesterol
  • diabetes
  • musculoskeletal disorders (especially osteoarthritis – a highly disabling degenerative disease of the joints);
  • some cancers (including endometrial, breast, ovarian, prostate, liver, gallbladder, kidney, and colon).
  • cardiovascular diseases (mainly heart disease and stroke)
